Require information on the parents of Brice (or Bryce) Blackwell & Thrensbury Blackwell. Brice Blackwell was b. in early 1800s in Tenn. (it is believed); he m. a lady named Campbell. Need info. on William Blackwell b. approx. 1780-85. First
located in Washington Co., Va., 1810 census through 1830. Listed
in the 1820 & 1830 was a boy named Joseph Blackwell, under
10 yrs., living with William. William was living with his son,
Benjamin, b. 1805, during the 1840 Smyth Co., Va., census. They
next appeared in Tazewell Co., Va., 1850 census, William being
listed as a blacksmith. The 1860 Tazewell census was burned. Assume
they d. before 1870 Tazewell Co. census because neither Benjamin
nor William was listed. Benj.'s 3 sons were listed: James M.,

Samuel Blackwell was born in Virginia and is thought to have served in the RW from either Fauquier or Nothampton County, Virginia. Samuel Blackwell died in Blount County, Tennessee in 1814. He was apparently a widower because he mentions only his children in his will. His children were: Eliza b. about 1789 and m. William West; Mary b. about 1800 and m. Isom Adams in 1817 (were in Blount Co., Tenn., by 1818); Matilda m. Strut Lane in 1824; Sarah Polly m. Michael Bowerman in 1821; William; John; and Susannah who m. Milton Bradberry Torbet in 1821.
