Blackwell's of Litton, Derbyshire 1550 - 1720
Ellis14 Blackwell (Humphrey12,
Robert11, John10, William9)
Ellis is the last generation in the court case and is in possession of
some property. He is therefore alive in 1588. Land records in the Bagshaw
Collection imply his son Adam. Is Humphrey Adam's son or brother?:
- Adam14 Blackwell m. Alice d.o.
Anthony and Marie Ouldfield (B2059 in
1618). Marie Outfield refers to Adam Blackwell as her daughter's husband
in 1618, but in later records she refers only to Humphrey and George in
1627 (B2060) and 1628 (B2061). This implies Adam and perhap Alice are dead
by 1627. It also implies Humphrey is Adam and Alice's son. B2059
in 1618 also mentions Ellis Blackwell this implies Ellis may be Adams father.
More documentation is needed.
- Humphrey15 Blackwell (d.1639)
m. Anne.
His will says he got his lands from Humphrey (presumably Ellis's father).
(Humphrey's will refers to Sir John Manners; someone might check manorial
records at Belvoir Castle (Duke of Rutland) getting access is very difficult).
- George16 Blackwell inherited
in 1639 the farm and house of his father (d.1687 Lichfield wills). (also
B2060 in 1627, B2061 in 1628 ref. Humphrey & George B.) (the Oldfield
or Outfield family seems to have many links to Blackwell & Eyre Families)
(also a Robert Blackwell m. Bridget Oldfield on 1688 Apr.26 in Tideswell)
